• Storage:

• Store below 25C

• Protect from light and moisture

• Use immediately after reconstitution, or store reconstituted solution at 28C for up to 1224 hours, depending on diluent

4. Therapeutic Uses

Indications include:

• Complicated intra-abdominal infections

• Hospital-acquired pneumonia (including ventilator-associated pneumonia)

• Complicated skin and soft tissue infections

• Meningitis (bacterial origin)

• Febrile neutropenia

• Sepsis and bloodstream infections, especially due to resistant organisms (e.g., ESBL, AmpC-producing bacteria)

Use only under supervision in ICU or infectious disease wards.

Common adverse effects:

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

• Rash, pruritus, injection site pain

• Headache, dizziness

Serious/less common:

• Seizures (particularly in patients with renal impairment or CNS disorders)

• Elevated liver enzymes

• Clostridioides difficileassociated diarrhea

• Hypersensitivity or anaphylactic reactions (especially in beta-lactamallergic patients)

• Monitor renal function and adjust dose in renal impairment

• Use with caution in patients with a history of seizures

• Not recommended in pregnancy unless essential (Pregnancy Category B)

• Reconstituted solution should not be mixed with other drugs unless compatibility is verified

• Avoid rapid IV bolus in patients with known CNS disorders
