Fonyl Injection contains Sodium Stibogluconate, a pentavalent antimonial drug. It is mainly used in the treatment of Leishmaniasis (Kala-azar, Cutaneous Leishmaniasis, Mucocutaneous Leishmaniasis).

It acts by inhibiting glycolysis and fatty acid oxidation in parasites, thereby interfering with energy metabolism and survival of Leishmania species.
