2. Product Description

Beleodaq (Belinostat) is a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor.
It works by inhibiting HDAC enzymes, leading to an accumulation of acetylated histones and proteins. This changes gene expression, induces cell cycle arrest, and promotes apoptosis in malignant cells.

It is indicated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) in adults.

5. Side Effects

Common:

• Fatigue, weakness

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

• Pyrexia (fever), chills

• Decreased appetite, weight loss

• Anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia

• Elevated liver enzymes (AST, ALT)

Serious / Severe:

• Severe bone marrow suppression (neutropenia, thrombocytopenia)

• Serious infections (sepsis, pneumonia)

• Hepatotoxicity (liver failure in rare cases)

• Tumor lysis syndrome

• Cardiac arrhythmias (rare QT prolongation)

• Blood Monitoring: Regular CBC to track for cytopenias.

• Liver Function: Monitor liver enzymes frequently.

• Infection Risk: Use prophylactic/supportive antibiotics as required.

• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Contraindicated; teratogenic risk.

• Drug Interactions: Caution with other drugs metabolized via UGT1A1 pathway; dose modification may be needed.

• Driving / Machinery: Avoid if experiencing fatigue, dizziness, or weakness.
