Abirapro 250 mg Tablet contains Abiraterone Acetate, a selective androgen biosynthesis inhibitor.
It works by inhibiting the enzyme CYP17A1, which is essential for androgen (testosterone) production in testes, adrenal glands, and prostate tumor tissues.
By lowering androgen levels, it slows the growth and progression of prostate cancer cells that depend on androgens for survival.

It is usually prescribed in combination with prednisone/prednisolone to reduce side effects related to mineralocorticoid excess.
