Geffy 250 mg Tablet contains Gefitinib, a selective EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor) tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It blocks abnormal signaling pathways in cancer cells that drive their growth and survival.

It is primarily indicated in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that is EGFR mutation-positive. Gefitinib offers targeted therapy with fewer systemic side effects compared to conventional chemotherapy.

• Genetic Testing: Should only be prescribed if EGFR mutation positivity is confirmed.

• Liver Function: Monitor LFTs during therapy; adjust or discontinue if severe hepatotoxicity occurs.

• Kidney Function: Generally safe, but caution in severe renal impairment.

• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Contraindicated; effective contraception required.

• Drug Interactions: Avoid strong CYP3A4 inducers (rifampicin, phenytoin) and inhibitors; monitor when used with warfarin (risk of bleeding).
