2. Product Description

Hepcinat (Sofosbuvir 400 mg) is an antiviral medicine used in the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide analog NS5B polymerase inhibitor, which blocks viral RNA replication.

It is not used alonealways prescribed in combination with other antivirals such as Ledipasvir, Velpatasvir, or Daclatasvir depending on the HCV genotype and patient profile.

• Chronic Hepatitis C infection in adults

• Works best in combination therapy:

  • Sofosbuvir + Ledipasvir (for genotypes 1, 4, 5, 6)

  • Sofosbuvir + Velpatasvir (pangenotypic regimen)

  • Sofosbuvir + Daclatasvir (widely used, especially in India)

• Helps reduce viral load to undetectable levels (SVR sustained virologic response, considered functional cure)

Common:

• Fatigue

• Headache

• Insomnia

• Nausea

Less common but serious:

• Bradycardia (especially when co-administered with amiodarone)

• Anemia when combined with ribavirin

• Liver enzyme elevation (monitor during treatment)

6. Precautions

• Not to be used alonealways in combination with other DAAs.

• Avoid use with amiodarone (can cause severe symptomatic bradycardia).

• Use caution in severe kidney impairment or end-stage renal disease.

• Inform doctor about all ongoing medications to avoid drugdrug interactions (especially anticonvulsants, rifampicin, herbal St. Johns Wort).

• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Not enough safety dataconsult physician.
